Conversations on Cultivating Wisdom: A Video Series

A very warm welcome to a series of brief conversations and blog posts exploring the notion of wisdom in the 2020s!

We have taken the following motif to guide our exploration:

‘What might we ask most of our wisdom in these challenging times? As individuals, as families, as communities, as organisations, as society more broadly?’

This motif is carried and offered by the group who have been meeting in Golden Civilisation conversation on Primrose Hill in London for the last eighteen months. Our determination to do all we can to improve civilisation through conversation and collaboration gave birth to the notion of exploring wisdom in more depth – to give ourselves and others better access to ancient and modern resources on wisdom, pivotal we believe to humanity’s efforts to build and thrive in a better world. Our guiding ‘torch’ stands at the bottom of this blog post.

Over the next three months or so, our conversations will draw on ancient and modern sources across many spheres, including leadership thinking, great literature, spiritual writings and learning, philosophy, psychology and mindfulness. These conversations sit alongside and in support of many other initiatives in this realm; for instance, a virtual Centre for Wisdom was hosted on 1 May 2020.

Best wishes!

Julian

  • Delight ourselves and each other with our joy, humour, optimism and sense of fun

  • Live in harmony and compassion, embracing difference in a spirit of empathy, kindness, tolerance and love

  • Explore and deepen our wisdom, self-knowledge and creativity through vibrant dialogue, learning, science and art

  • Move forward every day with a deep sense of collective endeavour, courage, vigour and vitality to improve the lives of all on the planet…..

………How would that be?
